Welcome Message to NHS Families from your New Principal, TJ Flanagan
Dear Norton High School Parents and Families,
I am honored and excited to introduce myself as your new Principal of Norton High School. My name is TJ Flanagan, and I bring 24 years of experience in education to this role. Throughout my career, I have served as both a mathematics teacher and Assistant Principal at Oliver Ames High School, where I developed a deep appreciation for the transformative power of education and the incredible potential that lies within each student.
As your Principal, I am committed to being visible throughout our school community. You will see me in the hallways, classrooms, cafeteria, sports games, concerts, plays, art shows, and other school events. I believe that being present and engaged allows me to better understand your children's needs, celebrate their achievements, and support them through challenges. Your children's school activities matter to me because they matter to you and to them, and I want to be there to cheer them on and share in their successes.
Partnership is at the heart of everything we do. I firmly believe that the strongest educational experiences happen when families and schools work together as true partners. Your insights about your children, your support at home, and your involvement in our school community are essential ingredients for student success. I want to hear from you about what's working well, what could be improved, and what new opportunities you'd like to see at NHS. Your voice and perspective as parents are invaluable to me as I make decisions that affect our school community.
Just as I value student voice, I equally value parent and family input. I am committed to creating meaningful opportunities for you to share your thoughts, concerns, and ideas as we work together to shape our school's future. Open communication between home and school is fundamental to supporting your children's growth and achievement.
My goal is to ensure that every student finds success and has a rigorous, meaningful learning experience that prepares them for their future endeavors. I encourage you to support your children as they GET INVOLVED, challenge themselves to try new things, take risks, and meet new people. Together, we can help them find a sense of belonging at Norton High School and take pride in being a Norton Lancer.
I look forward to meeting each of you and building strong partnerships with the incredible families that make up our Norton High School community. Please don't hesitate to reach out to me with questions, concerns, or ideas. My door is always open, and I welcome the opportunity to work closely with you in support of your children's success.
In August, I will be hosting meet and greet opportunities for families, and I will share more details about these events in the near future. I am really looking forward to the year ahead and the opportunity to work alongside you as partners in your children's education. I am proud to call myself a Norton Lancer and I am excited to be a part of this community!
In partnership,
TJ Flanagan
